News and Annoucements
06/24/2008:

Our Passage in Translation this week comes from two scriptures, Matthew 27: 28-29 and John 19:1-5. As most of you know, many of the same stories are told throughout the Gospels and some of those accounts differ somewhat. So, who is correct? In this week’s study, Dr. Blizzard reflects on the writings of John versus the writings of the other three Gospels. To read his comments and the translations of the specific biblical text, just scroll down and click on the most recent passage in translation.

We call your attention to a re-posted feature article.
I am sure that most of you are aware of the recent court ruling in the State of California allowing gay marriage. Many same-sex couples have been rushing to the altar in the State of California to be joined together in matrimony. In reading the newspaper articles and listening to the discussions on television, I was reminded once again, of my article posted here on our Web site in October 2003. I thought, once again, how appropriate it was in view of current court rulings and discussions on the subject. Therefore, we are posting the article again for your enlightenment and welcome any comments you might have regarding the article. To read our featured article, click on the maroon box in the upper right corner of this page.

We call your attention to a couple of new events posted in our Coming Events section:
An upcoming summer seminar directed by Dr. William McDonald - The Old Testament College Study Seminar will be held in Odessa, Texas, June 26-28. In July, the American Institute for Advanced Biblical Studies will host the 2008 Jerusalem Conference, July 17-20, in Little Rock, Arkansas. To get more information about these upcoming events and registration information, just click on Coming Events section to the left of this page.
