Dr. Blizzard,
Gen 4:15 "And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold . And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him."
I am curious to know whether or not God is marking Cain for protection or in shame, and what that mark may be. I suppose I just don't understand the basic point of the whole story. Cain's sacrifice was not taken because it was not a blood sacrifice, but I have heard that wheat sacrifice was considered just as worthy. Still, the Bible states that God did not find favor with Cain, as well as with his sacrifice. So he murdered Abel for jealousy?
