Question:
Dear Dr. Blizzard, I want to know if the scripture verse Hebrews 6:4-6, refers to only the Christian Jews since it was written to the Hebrews, or if it applies to all Christians. My Bible teacher of 60 yrs. told me it is only for the Christian Jews. Is then the whole book of Hebrews only for the Christian Jews??? Your speedy reply is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
In Yeshua's hand. Linda Tropean
Answer:
Dear Linda,
The book of Hebrews was written to all Hebrews. Hebrews 6, beginning with verse 1, instructs that leaving the basic principles of repentance, faith, baptism, laying on of hands, resurrections, judgment, etc., go on to other things - because it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and have partaken of heavenly things and have been filled with the Holy Spirit, have tasted the good word of God and experienced the power of the world to come. If they turn from God and become an apostate, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance seeing they crucify afresh the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

The principle here is that one who experiences the grace, if they revert back to Law, that there is no longer the working of grace. This is actually not a very difficult passage but one that has been too frequently misinterpreted.
