Question:
We were just wondering: Since all of the New Testament writers were Hebrew, why is the New Testament written in Greek? Was it translated from Greek to English? ... or, from Hebrew to Greek to English? If the later is true, can we find a New Testament directly translated from Hebrew to English? If you have one, please let us know the price, and we'll order it right away. Sincerely, Phyllis
Answer:
Answer: The writers of the New Testament were indeed Hebrew and the earliest of the written documents was in Hebrew. It was only later that this material was translated into Greek and then from Greek to many other languages including English in the 17th century. There is one New Testament in Hebrew and English that is available from the Society for Distributing Hebrew Scriptures. We do not carry it but you can go online and find it there. Again, I apologize to be so long in responding. Best wishes, Roy B. Blizzard, Jr.
