I am relatively new to the understanding of the Hebrew roots of our faith. I have a question would you help me to understand john 20:23, and the correspondence of "confess your sins one to another" I am not Catholic but they use these verses as their reason for confession, and absolution. Dear Lance,
Actually this passage does give justification for our confession of sins to one another but not for confessing sins to a confessional individual or to some spiritual authority who claims an authoritative position beyond that possessed by the ordinary believer.
