Question:
What do you believe was Paul’s purpose on writing the book of Romans. Audrey
Answer:
Dear Audrey, In order to understand Paul’s purpose in writing to the Romans, one should know that Rome was a very cosmopolitan city. There were many, many Jews in Rome as well as a large population of believers. Paul’s purpose in writing to them is to establish that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes – to the Jew and also to the non-Jew (vs. 16). In his Epistle, he outlines what is considered proper action for the believer and or the child of God whether they be Jew or non-Jew. It is an instructional epistle designed to teach a child of God how to live. Much more could be said, but this should get you started.
Best wishes,
Roy Blizzard
