Question:
I have a question about Melchizedek. Many people I know believe that he was Jesus. In Hebrews 7 I see that he was a priest and a king of a real place. Where has your study came to about him and where can I find any clues.
Thank you, Ken
Answer:
Dear Ken,

Melchizedek was simply the priest king of the city of Salem (Jerusalem) during the time of Abraham. His name in Hebrew is Malchi Tzedek which means my king is righteous. He was a worshipper of the most high God. Jesus is mentioned as a priest after the order of Melchizedism instead of Aaronic priesthood as Melchizedek was several hundred years before the time of Moses and Aaron.

Best wishes,
Roy
